Hello everybody,
So, we flew from Perth to Johannesberg, and from there to Dar Es Salaam, and from there to Zanzibar. In Jo-Berg, they have the best smoothies ever. Seriously, they are amazing. It was all in Rand, which is their currency; 10 Rand to one dollar.. Everything is super cheap, like smoothies. It was 19 Rand for some thing at home that would cost 6 bucks. We had 5 hours there, and it was spent looking at how cheap things were.
The airport was really nice, but I did not expect the one in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania would be so nice...
I was sort of right. The airport in dar Es Salaam was two big rooms, and everything was old and/or broken. Outside it was so muggy I could barely breathe and there was a tropical rainstorm going on. I was sweating more than ever, and from the smell of the airport, everybody else was too. When we got outside, there were more people waiting with signs that reward names, for people who had ordered taxis. We didn't see our airport shuttle guy, so we sorta just waited around until we found a little stall with our service in it. When we got to our "Terminal" aka white room with a gross air conditioner thing, we had to wait for ever in that weird scary white room sweating. When we finally got our lady to take us out to the plane we found a little plane with 4 foot tall ceilings and broken seats. Safety First! Well the seat belts definitely were. They were so tight, and there were a million buckles and straps, and I felt like I was not going to be able to move, or like I was in a straightjacket, which is basically my worst nightmare. Well we got in to the air Ok, which was a relief because I thought it was going to break down. We landed in Zanzibar, which is very hot and very humid.
