We went on a 5 day safari to Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti. We drove in a big Land Cruiser with a pop up roof so we could stand up and look out the top. Our driver/guide, Godfrey, was very informative and I learned a lot about the animals and people that we saw. Over the 5 days we saw lots of different animals including three prides of lions, two cheetahs with their cubs, three rhinos, three leopards, one serval cat, three hyenas, lots of hippos, giraffes, warthogs and elephants, and hundreds of wildebeast, zebras, and gazelles. We saw so many wildebeast and zebras and gazelles because it was the time of the year for the wildebeast migration. When we were in the Serengeti it was cool to be in the middle of the migration, there were so many wildebeast and zebras running around. The first pride of lions we saw was a bit scary because one of the big males walked with his body rubbing against our Land Cruiser. It's tail was going into our window. Our guide told us they like to come close to the cars because of the shade they give.
The camps where we stayed were mostly permanent tents. In the tents we had permanent beds, toilets, sinks and showers. At night I heard zebras and a hyena that was right beside our tent. It was cool that our tent was in a conservation area and there were animals all around us.
