The main reason we stayed in Arequipa was to see the Colca Canyon. It is deeper than the Grand Canyon and a whole lot less dry. We stopped at a tiny village for lunch and I ate alpaca, cuy (guinea pig), and a whole bunch of other strange stuff.The highest point we got to that day was 4910 meters. For perspective, Mt. Kilimanjaro is 5895 meters high. Yeah, my head was feeling like someone had four or five little hammers knocking on it, so that was great and all. Me and my dad went on a walk and saw some amazing terraces and a Pre-Inca village, but unfortunately Kali and my mom were not doing too great with the elevation, so they didn't come. In the Colca Canyon, there are crops and little houses and cool things everywhere. Since the land is sloped in the canyon (duh), people make things called terraces, which are like they cut a flat bit of land like giant steps of land and put rocks around them.
