Sydney
When we left Byron, we drove to Sydney. In Sydney, over many conversations, we booked tickets for an opera at the famous Sydney Opera House. It was called The Magic Flute, by Mozart. We watched it at night, and it was amazing! The costumes were all extremely colorful. Unfortunately we were not allowed to take photos, so you won’t know what they looked like. I don’t know exactly what it was about, because it didn’t make a lot of sense, but it was mostly about this guy trying to get a girl. Also, ironically, we met a guy from Dar Es Salaam at The Opera House. In the city, we mostly ate at Woolworths (or "Wooly's) which is like a SaveOnFoods. In other words, we ate a lot of baguette and cheese.
We also met up with some friends we met on our last trip to Oz, and had a great time with them (and their puppy!) in the community of Dee Why. We had an awesome lunch and dinner with them and a swim in their pool. (Thank you Pam and Scott!).
We went for a couple of surfs, and I walked barefoot most everywhere, and it was lovely. It was sunny sometimes, but it also rained a lot on the day we left, which made it very hard to clean the camper, which had grass and dirt and sand everywhere.
